To those alone in Valentine’s
Star-crossed lovers copulating under star-filled nights
As the moon blushes and forgets about her weathered face
As birds stay up till late to serenade their love
Breaking into tears, crazed, transfixed in the moment.
As you and I hide alone between four walls withered in shame.
Blues, Grays, Whites have dulled our sunsets and sunrises
Too many words, too little, or both, and then there’s nothing
Anomalous, faceless beings reading every word here for answers that no one has.
So kiss that bottle like it’s a blond angel standing in the snow asking for love
And drink reality away
Till it is a happier scene than turtles jumping through pink hula hoops.
