haha ok kira from gundam seed and shinji from evangelion seem to be both the winiest of any anime characters i have ever seen so this is my question to u guys who is a bigger wihiner shinji or Kira?

No. its "tenshi no youni" ill translate for you the intro: Like an angel that has no sense of mercy Rise, young boy, to the heavens like a legend... it might not be that accurate as I am not Japanese but yeah.. Shinji is indeed a whiny little bitch. But he's courage more than makes up for it ^_^

00:06 Did they just say "tenchi muyo"? I love this song, but I hate the words. They're all talking about how Shinji is so awesome, but he's a whiny little bitch. Why such an awesome song with such stupid lyrics? Damn, this song is catchy.

Funny thing that they're both made by the same company (GAINAX), they're like two sides of the same coin: Gurren Lagann is funny, upbeat and has extremely over the top action comparable to even good old DBZ; While Evangelion is actually a really dark, intense, psychoanalitical anime, filled with brutally gory scenes and with an ending that'll leave you feeling like you're just going insane (in short, a total midscrew that'll leave questioning every aspect of your life).

Most is right, except two things: 1) Rei Ayanami was born from the Combination of Yui Ikari and Lilith's genes (Which would technically make her Shinji's half-sister! Or at least her cousin, depending on how much of Yui's DNA she has) this, combined with the fact that she is the vessel of Lilith's soul, is what makes her so Important for Gendo's plan of Instrumentality. 2) Not all evas are clones of Adam, Unit 01 is actually born from Lilith (and so is another key factor for Instrumentality).

Well that would be right except choosing reality in this case resulted in the apocalypse so the theme was no matter what you choose you're screwed. Plus in the crazy anime ending its left wide open to what he accepted although im inclined to say it was all just a narcotic induced dream. This anime has no clear themes just vague reference points which is why i will always hate it. Its as masterfull as a cube sold as "art". Its jus BS people give unfounded meanings to. And it worsens depression.
