nausea is the biggest problem with this crazy medicine. Miss a dose and you will be as sick as a dog.

The side effect I had was drowsiness for the first month. It went away. It is minor. People should use caution to see how you can handle driving when you use it. Just be careful and you likely will adjust. I assume a few people can't adjust and will have to switch. It made me so much better. I could concentrate and really be productive in my personal and professional life. Thank God for science.

Enjoy your new toxic life. Your gonna love it for the rest of your life because the addiction part, as he says, needs your doctors help and you will feel 10x worse than before you began.

I suffered from serotonin poisoning while on Effexor which can be deadly. I also get extremely aggressive on Effexor which can be deadly for those around me. Side effects matter because some can be deadly. Alternatives? Shit you find an alternative drop me a message because I'm hyper-sensitive to all medication. At the rate I'm going they're going to declare me SMI and force me to take these meds then I'm dead ... the ultimate cure.

TheFragile, You probably didn't really need the pills to begin with. It's so common these days. Many who take these drugs don't need them. They may be in a "rut" and, through time, they'll come out of it naturally. I've never been more "apathetic" than when severely depressed. The meds brought me out of that and I don't want to think of what would of happened without them. When you're in that state the side effects don't matter...what's the alternative?

prescription drugs only mask the root problem, that's why people who go off them have symptoms return a few years down the road. There have also been no tests (none) done to show if prescription drugs cause long term effects. Doctors claim there aren't any, which is extremely stupid since there have been no tests to prove otherwise. Pills make you apathetic, that's one conclusion I came to.

I quit Effexor cold turkey after being on 8 months in 2005, something I am very glad I did. I saw no ill effects and actually felt like a real person. After learning everything I could about Pharma companies and their tactics to decieve people, and make them think that sometimes drugs are the only way, I'm telling everybody who's on drugs, get off them, Eat a balanced diet, with serotonin, exercise, and make goals. Going natural can cure almost anything. And Diet and exercise don't fail.
