I probably didn't listen to this song since it was playing in the top 40's in the 90's. Good memories!! It was a big hit in the Rio de Janeiro Radio stations.

Because the melody needs a two syllable word. That leaves 7 or 13-19 or 20,30,40 etc. Out those 14 numbers only 7, 16, and 60 have a smooth lyrical flow with the word seconds. And 7 is the best phonetically of those three.

I think this song is BEAUTIFUL and very meaningful! Why would anyone wonder why 7 or another number is crazy!!! Why does it have to have a reason for using 7 seconds? Seven is spiritual number...
