megahann12 (November 28th, 2009 @ 5:09 pm)
woah no, i didn't say anything about n. that's a completely different story i think. that's a directed word.
haha good one covering your bases, so easy to get attacked here :P

@megahann12
your right
it is kinda like some sort of temporary name with out much meaning to it
thats the same way with the word nigga or the word black people
over the years we changed our name at least 6 or 7 different time, so why is it so offensive if sombody from another race calls us nigger??? we do it but its not offensive, why is that. we need a reality check quick, AND NO IM NOT TRYING TO ARGUE WITH EVERYBODY, IM JUST STATING THE OBVIOUS
megahann12 (November 28th, 2009 @ 3:20 pm)
that was awesome, i've never seen this and i say i love erykah? i should be ashamed of myself.
amazing
megahann12 (November 28th, 2009 @ 3:14 pm)
that's the one thing that gets me, i would never call someone anything other than what they'd prefer, but is "black" offensive?
i'm honestly wondering, i'm white, i get called white. i'm aussie, i get called aussie, with a mean tone (actually we get called "fucking aussies", or convicts lol, but ehhh nothing gets to us either)
"Black" seems like a sort of temporary all-covering term imo, i've just always wondered if "black" was the same as "yellow"?
ArAb1535 (November 28th, 2009 @ 4:47 am)
i understand what ur trying to say but hear me out, that word cant hurt you unless you take it to heart. even my friends grandmother said that black people today are way too sensitive about that word, we cant continue this "cycle" unless we start living and acting like niggas
saying it is one thing, acting it is another
being called a nigger is no different from being called an afro american or a black person
neither of those names are our original name.

Brotha, it's not about how others refer to us, but rather how we refer to OURSELVES. Doesnt apply to Ms.Badu, she already has knowledge of self, but too many of us, especially the young folks, have completely disregarded any semblance of their true heritage that we had left (after slavery) and replaced it with some diluted, basterdized form of culture we refer to as ghetto. Until we RE-embrace that which made us great as a people we are doomed to keep repeating the same old cycle of crap

i love erykah but she has to stop using the word nigga. look it up in the dictionary and see what it means the the spelling is niggerd. look it up and see if its something you should answer to.
