Its funny because in the Japanese manga "Steel Ball Run," Hirohiko Araki, the creator, recently used the Golden Rectangle along with those SAME examples to allow one of the main characters observe the Golden Rectangles in life to power up his attacks to infinity.

just a quick trivia for those that don't know and wondering what the chess reference was about, Through the Looking Glass (The next story after Alice in Wonderland) Is actually a chess game. From the beginning of the story all through the end, all of the actions of the characters correspond to chess moves that you can actually duplicate while reading the story. Alice represents a white pawn against a red opponent (ie. Black Chess pieces)
