This is a Finnish kantele. From what I understand the kantele, gusli, kokle & kannel are all closely related and basically the same instrument.

Is it russian gusli?

Gerry's kanteles are not only magical but very affordable as well. The kantele's sound seems to come from and reach a very deep place in people. Thanks for watching.

In my studies of Finnish culture and being a muscian I wanted to find a unique instrument to learn. This video has really helped me to do so. Thank you!

I'm actually Estonian myself (we're very close to the Finnish both geographically and ethnically) so kantele (in Estonian it's called "kannel") is very deeply rooted in my culture. I think it's a wonderful and quite unique instrument but usually noone of the outside world knows about it, so it's great to see it appreciated across the ocean.

Thanks. I feel real lucky to have it.

Great! I went into one while playing it! All kanteles have that drool factor, this one has it in spades.

great sound on that, I went into some sort of trance while listening.
