Stockhausen Klavierstuck X (1/3)

Back

Stockhausen's 10th Klavierstucken; by far the most technically and mentally challenging of all of his piano works. The choice of notation makes the piece almost unreadable, and very very few people have attempted to play it. It is absolutely impossible to play accurately, due to insane gestalts of massive chords marked as grace notes, followed by thunderous, arm-sized clusters, interspersed with large silences. It definitely requires several listens, even for the most snobbish avant-garde poseur. Just take a look at the sheet music and I'm sure you'll agree with everything I said. This is the premiere recording. Out of print now, unfortunately. DO NOT buy Henck's set; it is atrocious. Just a warning. Composer: Karlheinz Stockausen Composition: Klavierstuck X (1956) Performer: Aloys Kontarsky
