Huns (Xiongnu) were a confederation of nomadic tribes from the steppes of Central Asia. The Huns were the ancestors of the Turkic, Mongolic and Ugric peoples. They ruled and played a major role in the politics of the vast lands stretching from the Great Wall of China to the gates of Rome.
