Because Meyer puts up lists of songs she thinks should be on a soundtrack to her books. Eisley, Linkin Park, and others are common on these lists.

The Laughing City LP version is lighter and slower if anything. I think I own all of Eisley's music, but I've never heard the one on Stephanie Meyers' website before. The version on the Host playlist is pretty awful. I fell in love with this song because of the slow, deliberate way she sings it. Messing with the speed and the vocals just makes my ears hurt.

Yeah you're right I figured it was the only other version of the song I heard. I went to the site and it is pretty awful and I really doubt Eisley would butcher the song in that way If anyone is looking for a song that would go with twilight check out Sleepy Head. It is amazing.
