the beginning could've been MUCH faster. i am 12 (almost 13) and i can play it faster. ***HOWEVER*** it's probably just a matter of interpretation of the piece. his touch and clarity is much better than mine, anyway =]

Very blah performance - so SLOW! Thank goodness for Lazar Berman in this piece. Maestro Paik? Must be the same person who decided this pianist is worth recording the complete Beethoven Sonatas - yikes. I can find better pianists at Julliard.

His playing is great! Sounds really unusual and interesting! Well done

all the recordings of this piece on youtube are badly interpreted.

It seems like he's just playing it to show off.. my preference would be to show an ending at the end of each passage instead of speeding up or not paying attention to them like he does. He really needs to compartmentalize during the fast runs.. it seems like he's just playing the notes and not paying attention to the details. I usually forgive small technical mistakes, but this performance has way too many to overlook. Even I made less mistakes than he did... >.>"

Yea, no other choice for Chopin's Etudes.
