The latest Turkish Cumhuriyet Mitingi (Festival of the Republic) was held in Izmir, Turkey on May 13, 2007 (13 Mayis) which also coincided with Mother's Day. Literally millions attended the gathering which made it the largest demonstration ever held in Izmir. Ataturkcu Dusunce Dernegi ADD, Cagdas Yasami Destekleme Dernegi CYDD, Cumhuriyet Kadinlari Dernegi CKD, and hundreds of NGOs, especially women's organizations, participated in this meeting to protest AKP government's non-secular actions that erode the main pillars of the country written in its constitution. The music is Bayragim (My Flag) by Turkish singer Fatih Kayhan.
