100% artistic license, Lugosi and Karloff respected each other as professionals too much for antics like that. Both Karloff and Lugosi's families have a pretty low regard for Burton's "Ed Wood".

Awesome for a fanvid!!! Silket, the story is about the leader of a cult (Karloff) and his "guests" who are lured into his macabre rituals. Lugosi actually plays a good guy in this one. Terrific little movie.
