Tony Wilson Marsden Inn Folk Club 2001 Nobleman's wedding

Back

This is a traditional song that I found an old book of Irish songs in the Literary and Philisophical society's Library in Newcastle. A cautionary tale with no real explanation as to why she 'died'. It does happen in folk music and in stories where a terrible event has no full explanation, and the participants just shrug their shoulders and accept it When I was younger I used standard tuning and found it difficult to find the 'right' sounding chords, once I was shown DADGAD, by Gordon Tyrel, I liked the fact that the rule was that there was no rule. A bit like 'folk club'.
