Is fashion relevant or not that's really depend on one person to another person, like a saying "Beauty is in a eyes of the beholder". But i'm sure the fashion industry do generate a lots of job and sometimes make people feel really wonderful when they get to wear something beautiful. I know fashion cant solve the world problem or save all the hungry children but i'm sure it's still better than other thing like War...

Every where in the world, there are analphabets, people dying from hunger, from insanity ( living places ... )....
I'm sur that if they places a part, and i say a part of it to help to eradicate these things, that will be cool !
And i do not even talk about the publicity ! i can't imagine how it relates to make an advertising, millions ? billions ?
bullshit, like oscar wilde says : fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we must change every six months .

i can't understand the thing that people call fashion ! The clothes, stylists, models, modeling agencies...all of these things, that's some kind of bullshit!
The clothes are expensive, they are useless ( people wear them for just one moment, an opening, a bal, a festival ...), i'm sure that with all of the money spent to these shits, they can do others things, likes first of all help the world ( environment ...), people and most of all, children.

And this type of comment is coming from someone who chose to use "dirtyblondny" as a name...Not surprising..

Anna's voice is so much gentler sounding than Streep's

Although I do love Vera's clothes so much, it sounds like she is a quitter and gives up because she doesn't get what she wants.

csll me crazy, but as an outsider looking in (meaning no affiliation or never haved worked for her) i think her vicious, callous approach to her work/fashion is completely appropriate. fashion is a relatively shallow, hard headed industry and i think it is kinda vicious in itself and what you cant do the next person can probably do better. Its so easy to look at how mean or inappropriate a persons behavior is without taking into account that Anna is a women in a very dominate position.

People, this isn't finding the cure for cancer or world peace. It is still known as the 'rag trade' for a reason.

No, she's a professional, I'm sure you'd see quite a different woman at work amongst her subordinates. Fiercely ambitious people are often the most charming when they need to be.

For all it's 'shallowness' fashion is often influenced or dictated to by the social and political climate, you just have to looka t the ott, flamboyant styles of the wartime 1940's to boost morale and confidence and a give a feeling of empowerment, or the upbeat music during the depression and first and second world wars. It's not quite as black and white as you would perceive it to be.
