I am reading a book now that shows some of what Einstien went through after he published relativity. Conferences were actually held to denounce relativity. One scientist said Einstein should be killed. Max Planck defended Einstein and said it takes a generation for a new truth to be accepted. I would say it will take a generation for Lindzen, Spencer et al to finally be accepted.

grastog "troll a day" is blatant repetition of exactly the same words. Like your posts proclaiming the universality of AGW in the literature. Do you have any idea how many you have posted? My guess would be 5%-10% of all the posts on the threads you visit. Easily in the hundreds.

Recently, we've been seeing what I call the "troll a day" phenomenon someone new joins YouTube and starts issuing insults and invalid assertions of the "global warming is a hoax" variety. The new names (e.g. Favre) are associated with the disappearance of previous trolls, and so I assume the "new" trolls are simply old trolls with new names. I see no way to remove them, but what we can do is provide good data, sources, or descriptions, and let viewers decide who's credible and who isn't.

jffry "peer review" means reviewed by peers. It is not dependent on publication in any particular journal, and it is certainly not a guarantee of correctness. That's pretty well what you said about the IPCC ARs and I'm happy to accept it more generally. It would be double standards to then suggest that publication in a journal is a means to filter other work. Hypocrites do not deserve to be listend to jffry. So stop trying to pick and choose to suit your argument.

and don't forget the fact that we wouldn't need a navy to protect shipping lanes if we didn't need gasoline...it's this use of statistics that remind me of that old saying..there are lies, there are damned lies, and then there are statisics

well gras what I did was take the name of the author off your reference and then did a search on him in regards to the real price of gasoline since the page you referenced really had very little information on it

1st corollary: publication in a journal is dependent on peer-review. 2nd corollary: the higher the impact factor of a journal the more discerning the peer-review. 3rd corrolary: Duh. Ultimate peer-review occurs when it's published, number of times it's cited is a good measure.

"For clarity - the solar panel must be placed so as to intercept wasted light but not light you need to work by." Yes, but my computer has an LCD screen. I look upon this as "free light". (My wife is looking rather unhappy in the corner of the room though - at least, it looks like my wife .. a bit hard to tell right now)
