The Paupers - South Down Road - 70's Psychedelia

Back

Classic Toronto Band with a cult following. I'm part of the cult. Adam Mitchell - Guitar, Skip Prokop-Drums, Chuck Beal-Guitar, Brad Cambell-Bass. It's a funky slideshow but a great trippy song. From the LP Ellis Island. http://www.classicrockpage.com/everheardof/thepaupers.htm http://www.peermusic.com/artistpage/Adam_Mitchell.html

saw these guys twice at NYC's Electric Circus in the late 60's and they were awesome - their two albums are great

OMG I never even thought to search for this band. My very favourite band when I was hangin' around Yorkville in the 60's!!!!!! This vids not so hot but boy are those pics ever bringing back memories.

BLEW Jefferson Airplane off stage in Greenwich Village...only to have the CREAM blow them off the same stage. Big break would have been Monterey Pop Festival...but the bass player was on LSD and their set mever made the movie.

Count me in the cult of The Paupers. I've got several copies of Magic People and Ellis Island. A vastly overlooked band.
