Aniajulie: thank you for this. Elaine Page has to be one of the first ladies of the musical stage, alongside Patte Lupone et al. I suspect that some of your commenters do not realize that Elaine was chosen by Andrew lloyd Webber, and in a few instances (Cats) he wrote the music with an actress in mind...Strangely, none of his choices were pop stars...although he did have Bonnie Raitt at his tribute concert many moons ago, and she was terrific. I wish someone could upload a video of that. hint

Madonna's voice is so much better- I almost prefer a mechanized voice to this rubbish. No wonder she is a washed up thespian while Madge is still top of the charts.

Madonna wimped out and lowered so many of the songs. I know she had to, but it ruined alot of the songs. She was OK, nothing special. Movies provide that safe environment where the performer doesn't truly have to perform.

Stupid that wasn't up too Madonna, it had nothing to do with Madonna being afraid. Madonna sings in a certain key and they had to change the key in order for Madonna to sing it. But Madonna had the last laugh because, despite all of you ass wipes that criticize, everytime you say Evita, people think of Madonna.

Um, I think of Patti LuPone (Broadway) and Elaine Paige (West End). Madonna did a great job, but she's not either of the stage divas.
