Spoems - RV Fire

RV Fire

Back

While crossing Stevens Pass in Washington state, we drove past a RV burning on the side of the road. I just happened to have my video camera in the front seat and started filming. The officer at the end later told us that the RV was loaded with ammunition... If you watch the video all the way threw you get to see a pretty cool progression of the fire working its way up to the front of the RV. Unfortunately we had to leave before we could see the fire put out, or how how much was left. The last scene gives you a good idea of the scale of the fire and how much smoke was put out. I made this video in kind of a hurry, but i think it gets the job done. Started off with 25+ minutes of footage, then cropped it and sped it up to the length of the song. Even though it is something burning, 25 minutes of it can get pretty boring to watch on a computer. :P FYI song is "Nightquest" by Nightwish

Let's see: all fiberglass & low-temp burning aluminum, cheapo dry wood interior frame, synthetic, highly flammable carpeting(with highly flammable adhesives...), flammable interior paints, plastic skinned interior paneling, highly flammable foam cushions for all seats, couch & beds. Propane tanks, propane lines running throughout the RV... How is this fire a surprise? This would NEVER happen with an Airstream or Bluebird.

I agree 100%.

He's right about all of the flammable materials in the average RV. If a normal house had this many bad design & safety elements, it would never pass building and fire marshall codes, no way!!

well I have a 40 ft silver eagle and tow a ranger. I took the norcold fridge out and replaced it so this dont happen. this could have been disconnected even pointing downhill. I have had to do it to back the rv up a hill. takes 5 seconds atleast whith the tow equiptment I use. just sucks seeing this either way. To dissconnect the tow vehicle, Pull the rip pins on the cleats closest to the tow car, pull lead cables and back the car off the tow bar. pointing down hill makes it not roll away.

you are the dumb ass...you cant just back up a tow vehicle thats attached to the RV and heading down hill.
