C. Galos: Le Lac de Côme (Lake Como), 6th NocturneBackThe composer of this popular 19th c salon piece is a mystery. I had thought he/she was Italian, but having seen discussions on the subject on a piano forum, I think that the author - often spelt as 'Galas' - was French, and quite possibly female, and had died (or given up writing) by 1924. Galos's pieces are composed of stock salon clichés.
