So your formula for a good band is one that lasts at least 5 years, and if they least any less they wont be remembered? So in your mind, the Sex Pistols aren't great because they only lasted 3 years? What about Nirvana? Just because a band is able to last more than 5 years does not automatically make them great you dipshit. 5 years isn't even that long. Would you call Britney Spears great because she's lasted a decade? SP could be here for the next 20 years, but they'll still suck.

You cant seriously be comparing Simply Gay to the Cure. That's like comparing God to a rock. Simple Plan should never be mentioned in the same sentence as the Cure, unless it's "Compared to the Cure, (Best band in the world) Simple Plan sucks hippo ass!". The Cure is remembered because they've left a mark on the music industry by having original style. Theyre not another whiny pop-punk band with no talent or orignality
