N-warp Daisakusen - worlds first 8 player SNES gameBackNew SNES homebrew-minigame based on the SNES engine I'm currently developing. Download it here for free: http://gra.dforce3000.de/ This game took 3 weeks to create - 3 days for the actual gameplay core(see previous video), the rest for creating the intro and finetuning stuff. This is the worlds first SNES game that can be played by 8 players simultaneously using 2 multitaps and 8 joypads. The idea for this game came up a couple of days before I went to a small Nintendo convention in Germany.(the previous video shows footage of that event) I tried to keep the gameplay as simple as possible so that everybody could jump right in. This video is just me playing alone, showing off the game and switching joypads all the time. I couldn't get rid of all the black borders in this video, it's not looking that bad on a real TV. Video was recorded from a real SNES, not from an emulator, btw. I might add a video with a couple of friends and me playing, but my room is too small for even 8 people to fit in, unfortunately. ;) We'll see how that works out... The game still is a bit rough around the edges, but it's mostly complete, I guess. By the way, all of the speech is coming from the SNES, I didn't edit this into the video later. If you think the voice acting is cheesy, you're probably right... This is the best I could come up with unfortunately. This and all my future homebrew developments will be released under the gra label. Noteworthy features: -music by MAF(haven't actually asked if I'm allowed to use it yet, but it fits soo nicely =) -256 color backgrounds -voice streaming via HDMA -first click/pop-free homebrew mod-music player on the SNES.(this kind of stuff should be mandatory, but nobody else seems to have figured that out yet...) -4 levels -16Mbit ROM -runs on real Hardware and accurate Emulators. -8 player support.(obviously) -coded in pure 65816 Assembler Background images were mostly taken from google image search and then refined.
