You are making a huge assumption when you say that most of today's successful singers got their on their own. If you look behind the scenes of many artists, you will find that they had a LOT of political help. The kind of help that ordinary everyday people cannot access. We now live in a world of Britneys, and Ashley Simpsons, and Avril Lavignes... all just marketing projects. It is documented fact that it was the Canadian Prime Minster who put the finger on David Foster for Buble.
