I knew at the time that IceClimbers were only in one game, but I thought Pit would be more relevant since he too was a newcomer Important Note: Not only are Square and Nintendo on friendly terms. It has been confirmed that Square-Enix is involved in brawl AM I SAYING THAT GENO IS IN BRAWL? No. Simply put no. But this is interesting. They may have Cloud or another famous character represent them as a franchise, but still lend rights to Nintendo for Geno Edit: Well damn, it seems Square was involved. But only in the composition of most of the music in Brawl. No characters. A shame Second note: Keiji Inafune, the creator of Mega Man, stated in an interview that Nintendo has not contacted him about MegaMan being in Brawl. From the sound of the interview, Keiji Inafune seemed disappointed that Nintendo hasn't contacted him up to this point. Third note: Why do I believe Geno is second party? Diddy Kong and Donkey kong were developed by Rare. However, Microsoft has bought out Rare from Nintendo. DK and Diddy are still in, along with Starfox. I believe they were in a grey area since the publisher was Nintendo. So then what about Geno? In the credits of Super Star Saga where Geno made his cameo. It stated the character Geno belonged to Square-Enix. I still don't completely understand who he completely belongs to, but due to the first important note I still have high hopes for Geno. Until then, we'll just have to wait until people start sending the newcomers once the Japanese release of Brawl happens January 24th Fourth note: January 25th, Masterpieces Super Mario RPG was scheduled to release in December 2007. And to my knowledge (Please prove me wrong if I am)got canceled without an explanation. Well this update on the Smash Bros website says there will be even MORE games to unlock, and so far it seems there should be a game for each of the characters in Brawl, maybe a little less. If Geno IS in brawl, there won't be a doubt in my mind that Super Mario RPG is in the Masterpiece selection.
