Ojos de Brujo: Techari Live cover of Get up Stand upBackLatin Grammy Award Winners, Ojos de Brujo (translates to "Eyes of the Wizard") stands out as one of the truly original groups of the new millennium. They hail from the thriving sonic melting pot of Barcelona, and yet exist in a class of their own. The music reflects their Spanish and gypsy heritage, but travels light years beyond traditional flamenco. Their live shows have become the stuff of legend, and they have left a path of sold-out shows and stunned audiences worldwide. The profesional audio CD and DVD features a handful of special guests including a throbbing horn section led by Carlos Sarduy, Martirio on a head-rush rendition of "Todo Tiende," and Daara J MC Faada Freddy for a feisty version of Bob Marley's "Get Up Stand Up." Ojos de Brujo's signature flamenco dancers and stimulating AV graphics also add visual fireworks to the DVD. Throughout the performance is the sense of a collective who are restlessly nomadic in their search for new sounds, and genuinely delighted to share it with us.
