Happy Manners Day!BackJust because I do not always have them, I do love good manners. I think a little social order is a good thing. In San Francisco, where I've never met more men who will NOT open the door for a woman--even when on a date--could use a little manner review. And of course, I am sure it comes as no surprise most people's traffic manners are abysmal. Well, lets start with some kiddie manners. At Beverly Hills Manners there is a great survey to take. Here is a sample question. We live in a time where bad manners are running rampant. People are offending others without care. Here's an opportunity to select your biggest manners pet peeve: People who show up late without apologizing People who fiddle with their cell phones and Blackberry's during dinner People who insist on using foul language People who talk with their mouth full People who do not respond to emails People who cut in line I chose "People who cut in line" which are yours? The worst line-cutters are couples who leave one person standing in a long check-out line while the other continues to shop and load up their cart. You think you're getting behind someone with maybe one item in their hands, then as you approach the belt, their partner shows up with a full cart and acts like "holding their place" works the same as it does in a movie line. I wouldn't have picked this line if your loaded cart was there! Thanks for letting me vent.

as the years go on you will start to see less and less of manners so better cherish them while you can.

IS!!!!! in 1964 13 year old Elisa Johnson was raped and murdered in North Carolina, her body was found with multiple stab wounds, and now that you've read this, every night she will come to your house and hang from your closet with glowing red eyes, the only way to stop this is to post this to 10 other videos. SORRY I DIDNT WANT HER IN MY ROOM .sorry just spam this.don't hate

I don't see how hard it would be to get a kid to say "please to meet you". Before someone comes to visit, pull your kid to the side and say in a quiet voice "When auntie comes in I want you to shake her hand and say "pleasure to meet you" okay?" and do that everytime. That's how you teach your kid to say basics like please and thankyou.

If you start doing that from when they start talking, it works, but once your kid develops their own personality and attitude, it's a lot harder to teach them their manners.
Ever walked through a store and watched young mothers as opposed to older ones? The younger mothers think their kids can do no wrong and everything is adorable and their kid is unique. Older mothers know better.

I'm a big "Allow US citizens to have guns!" person, but to be liked, you can't use fear. To be listened to, you can, but how about both? A sweet person with a gun is really creepy. Like out of a movie.

Thanks,
You really have a point though. It's just I live in Chicago and even though I don't have a gangster mentality. The kids now a days don't have any respect or home training. We can't say anything to correct another person's child because people want to fight. Back in the day, other parents would tell other parents what their kids are up to. Today, we hardly act like we are neighbors in our own communities.

Its not silly. I think taking your small child (maybe 3 to 6 years old) would be a really great idea so it gets ingrained in their behaviour and becomes a life time habit. I just might do that. Instead of day care, manner school. Haha.
