This has got to be in the top five of U2's songs ever. I really believe that. Lyrically and musically, it is superb. The Edge's guitar solo is great, but the lyrics are so stinking creative!

this song is actually about judas betraying jesus...makes sense when you go back and listen to the lyrics with that in mind.

It's criminal that radio stations don't play this song, one of U2's most underrated, anymore. Hate to sound grotesque but the unique introduction sounds like the pistolwhipping of donkeys.

Uh, Windew, that's the point. When they did Achtung Baby, they so *overdid* it to undercut the cult of celebrity that had grown up around them. That's what 'chopping down the Joshua Tree' was about. Why is the Edge in plastic wrap? Because they'd become a commodity. Every image is designed to undercut the picture of the earnest young men of their earlier career. That's the logic of all this.

Love U2 and this song ..but c'mon..theres no story to this video..no plot...no substance....just narcissistic video of themselves... WHY DO ARTISTS DO THIS TO THEIR SONGS WITH CRAPPY VIDEOS?!
