Straw-manning isn't really a good way to discuss things and a clear sign you don't want an intelligent discussion. And please excuse my assumption that a majority of the dead would rather be alive. The fact that the Viet Cong (complicated topic) did terrible things doesn't mean the US didn't, regardless of how many times worse they were. Also (as if my opinion had anything to do with it), look into mass media outside of the US before you comment on it.

Do you speak to the dead? If not how can you possibly know what their opinions were? Maybe they opposed communism and spoke their minds only to be terrorized and murdered by the Viet Cong. This accounts for a great deal of the civilian deaths. I won't even mention what happened in Laos and Cambodia.
I wanted an intelligent discussion but all you can give me is empty rhetoric and sarcasm, so I will not comment any further. One word of advice: Stop accepting the mass media as truth.

ho hi minh wasnt a communist he was nationalist, just not recognsed by the americans as one after hitler in ww2. ho would just have readily become capitalist, as he visited america and liked what he saw, but the US turned him down for support whilst the communist agreed to support him financially and millitarily to exeunt the frnch colonists.

To all of the "I hate America" zombies, I have one question. Why are there so many Vietnamese people living in the United States today? I know several and none of them has a harsh word to say about the US involvement in that useless war. Instead, they have horror stories about what happened after the communists took over. These days, it is obvious communism does not work and US navy ships now make regular port visits to Vietnam. I would love to discuss this intelligently.
