Well, 'standard' in that it's the same intervals just transposed 5 semitones. I guess that's what they were trying to say.

The tuning he is actually using is -Standard: E A D G B E -Ebon Coast: B E A D F# B It's not because hes using a baritone guitar....

exactly, THANK YOU!!! when i said that his talent was "god given" i meant that he already had it in him, but it was up to him to work hard and get to where he is now. we all have something in us that makes us special and unique. we are all good at something, and for andy mckee it's literally doing whatever he wants with a guitar. if what fretwalker671 said is true then everyone could be able to play like andy, but that's not the case.

No, I'm sorry you're wrong. Innate talent also makes a person learn more quickly and achieve greatness at anything. Obviously you have to be interested in what your studying no matter what, or you won't do it! Likewise, you can be completely obsessed with something and not become amazing at it after a lifetime of practice. How else can you explain child prodigies? They didn't have to study and practice, they're just TALENTED.

I bought his four albums, and I'm really disappointed with the quality... the quality is so much better in these videos it makes me frustrated. The album version of ebon coast isn't anywhere near as good as this video version. It's frustrating.
