Darvish50--it occured to me recently that it is not death that is the problem --it is our apprehension of it that is the problem. If a man had no knowledge that death existed until the moment of his end, then that he died would not matter at all to him. And so I determined to simply stop thinking about it. If one can do this then ones' whole life can retain the timeless and carefree quality known in youth.

I think the problem is not knowing death but a misunderstanding of life. how can you be sure that life and death are not the same thing? Maybe i am dead now and will come to life then? maybe there is no life as we understand it and no death as we think of it. maybe we just always are and in being what we are what does this or that matter if i always am.

to be fallen is to be self-conscious, and aware of our eventual demise. if you remove this apprehension, then you are closer to your original, "unfallen" state, which is to be reunited with the Lover.

one of my favorit poems of rumi. great lines, great vid and music. just "take an axe to the prison wall. escape. walk out like someone suddenly born into colour. do it now!" i´m a christian, but deep in my heart i feel connected to rumis wisdom, the zen teachings of dogen zenji, and the sayings of jesus. they all speak about the same freedom and love, which is in "god".

truth may come easy - in words. but your heart is the gate, where the truth have to go through. this gate is closed. how to open it for the caravan of love? and do not fear death? first lesson: accept that you can´t accept. this is, i think, the first big step. accept your fears without judging them, just look at them, accept what is, do not resist, than you can start to get free....
