Make sure if you are using a timer, that you also add an relais to the system. When an HPS lamp powers up, it takes a lot of energy which the timer most of the times cant handle, and it will burn the contactpoints stuck. When adding a relais the power will go trough the relais and not trough the timer, sparing your timer and your flowers :)

even at 250 watts, if your running it 10 hours a day, its using 2.5 KW/hours a day, thats going to be a real drain on your electricity bill, there goes the Green enviroment

Great video, I am a little apprehensive of an HID setup and am looking into a t5 flourescent setup becuase of less heat, power consumption...etc. can you give me any recomendations .

Yes, 600w HPS lamp systems plug right into a regular 110V outlet. I would only consider systems that are UL/CSA listed.
