Oasis - Slide Away - Seattle - Aug 26, 2008

Back

I think all the bright flashy lights made this a bit blurry :o( I can't decide if - at the beginning - Liam is waving (or whatever) at me or someone behind me - but it's in my direction - so I'm happy! guitar solo/ Noel's solo at the end is pretty amazing! His voice was amazing in the start of the tour... notice that he can sing the part "We'll find a way of chasing the sun" 1:21 properly without shouting.. compare to the later live version of the song where he shouts that part of the song..

liam sounds incredible. i wonder if he has back problems. the way he stands on stage looks really uncomfortable. lol. i'm seein them in chicago does anyone have a setlist?

He's been forced to lower his mic. He's been doing so for about 4 years now for the sake of his vocal chords and to prevent further damage with singing whilst unneccassarily overstretching his vocal chords. Basically his singing stance 'mic high, hands behind back, neck wrentched upwards' was fucking his voice up. He's adopted a new posture whilst singing to prevent further damage. Thats why he looks kinda odd at times. 94-2004 rip 2005-

I agree, after 'Morning Glory' his vocals have been declining steadily, his voice on 'Dig Out Your Soul' is just a low growl, and not very pleasing to listen to.

In my opinion, his worst album-voice was at Definitely Maybe, cause he was too young. His best preformence is definitely on Be Here Now, but Morning Glory and actually Dig Out Your Soul is way up there aswell... His voice on DOYS is fantastic!!

Oasis isn't about having a beautiful silky voice with a reach greater than Pavarotti. Oasis is about pure rock and roll, and if someone can't understand that, then they should go listen to some Italian opera and have a sip of red wine to their scones.

I agree its all about the experience. I saw them at Derby Warehouse back in 94. Liam stared us out thru the whole set. I swear he did not blink. Although, they only had 10 songs back then. So the set was a lot shorter. Check out NYC Wetlands videos. I travelled to the US for their first US tour. Wetlands was an amazing gig. My first time in New York City. Good times!!!!
