on average our military spending is usually 300 something billion dollars a year, that alone far exceeds other countries military spending for research. and now this bail out is making headlines? where has america been on this freakin subject
NathanZackery (Friday 21st of November 2008 06:59:25 PM)
"US debt is actually half that of WWII" And? WW2 was a huge strain for the US but it was proceeded by an economic boom. Our huge military spending now is in the midst of a looming recession, and the money could be better used elsewhere.
JesusHatesChristians (Thursday 20th of November 2008 03:11:51 AM)
There is a fundamental difference. Much of the debt from WW2 was in the form of war bonds which were owed to Americans. Today, the bulk of our debt is owed to foreigners (e.g., China).
NJRocks281 (Thursday 20th of November 2008 03:06:22 PM)
Too bad your dead wrong. The huge majority of American debt is held by Americans. Foreign holdings are much smaller. Also Japan owns far more of it than China. Just shows how the liberals have brainwashed you retards into buying their bullshit.
gendna2 (Saturday 22nd of November 2008 07:23:00 PM)
And you sir are an idiot because we are not liberals. I am sick and tired of stupid Americans that buy into the liberal versus conservative crock of dung. Chalmers Johnson, btw, is actually more of a conservative than McCain, and most people that agree with his message or the message of anti-statism, are absolutely not contemporary liberals. Liberal in the US today= socialist lite, Johnson, Dr Ron Paul, Forbes, Barr, they are not liberals either. Go watch Fox and believe in islamofascism.
NJRocks281 (Saturday 22nd of November 2008 07:43:30 PM)
Ron Paul is the opposite of a liberal you jackass. Don't even try to talk politics with me, cause you'll be shut down within 5 minutes. Your from fucking China you know jack shit about America. You said your sick of Americans buying into the liberal vs conservative crock of dung (wutever that means) Well I am sick you you idiot foreigners voicing your opinions when you don't have a fucking clue.
gendna2 (Sunday 23rd of November 2008 04:00:11 PM)
"Ron Paul is the opposite of liberal." Hmm, "Johnson, Dr Ron Paul, Forbes, Barr, they are not liberals either." I guess we agree you dumbass. BTW, moron, I am not from China I am from the USA and I love this country. You are buying into meaningless political definitions. Reality is that this nation is bankrupt because of the military and entitlement programs, as well as an interventionist foreign policy. If that's a "liberal" statement, then call me liberal.

This topic seems to be off limits in mainstrem us politics.

4% of gdp you idiot. Dont even try to argue with me, you will lose. GDP equals size of economy. USA has a 14 trillion dollar gdp. With a 3 trillion dollar budget you fool.
BLKcovenant (Monday 3rd of November 2008 06:48:16 PM)
-NjRocks- America's GDP exceeds that of every nation in the world. Like i said we spend more on our military than any other nation. Just because he have the money dont mean we should spend it. Our 4% of our GDP dwarfs that of China's whos population is 5x's bigger than ours. thats my point. Though percentage wise we spend the same of our GDP but in raw military equipment we dwarf everyone.
