I love the sounds that Realstrat makes, but are you able to program and layer guitar patterns through a sequencer?.

great playing! after listening to some demos on the musiclab sight, I'd have to say that despite some cool acoustic strumming stuff, the plugin is no substitute for the real thing. when u hear the plugin without a bunch of distortion and wah fx to cover the sound, it's obvious. there's just so much you can do with real string versus a key triggering a sample, it would be next to impossible to accurately model. plus the approach to playing a keyboard vs a guitar are fundamentally different.

Thanks! Yes, the approach is truly bizarre, i would not recommend it to anyone.. hehe But it truly suits what i do... and has so many expressive tone possibilities. check out 'Mo Rockin' Keytar" ? Short, but pure string tone with bridge squeaks et all I am working real hard on super "clean" sounds currently.. But of course it will never be a "guitar". ( but boy do i have fun playing with guitar players..!!! I light 'em up good...) Cheers! D

great playing, you're clearly very talented with a keyboard. im not sure that using a a VST makes it anything like a guitar, it sounds great, but like some great keyboard playing through some great software as opposed to a great guitar playing through a great guitar and amp (or even a guitar through vst plug-ins) no offence meant here, i think its really cool, nice sound and nice playing.

Thank-you It is, of course, a sampled "Stratocaster" so the original sound source was real and was strings, also with pick placement /hand placement/ pick speed and amount and various stages of muting.. That said, it certainly is its own animal for sure,, and the best lead tone I have ever had out of a sampler by far. Peace D

So you are using realstrat as VST right?
DrRyman (Friday 14th of March 2008 01:24:04 AM)
Correct, but as "AU" and using Logic Mainstage as host.

It strums! it feeds back! it has harmonics.. It bends strings... ( they even squeek) it screams.. its awesome...

Just watched/listened to this with the speakers turned way up and wow, what hurt was coming to the end. Totally messed up and terrifically exciting. The rhythm of life itself!
