... I guess the Cookie Monster is totally Samoan then... The count is based off the archetype of all Dracula parodies, the original 1930's "Dracula" with the late great Bela Lugosi (from Hungary), before him Dracula was not particularly accented but would always be after him.

I'm assuming that's what nostalgia does to you,makes you see things you saw as a child in a different light thanks to later experiences and such. Isn't childhood grand?
