Australia is a good 'proving ground' for laws. When the government decided to motivate people to trade in their guns, millions of guns were handed in. Today, there are far less gun related deaths as a result. Even knife deaths have fallen. I shoot clay targets for sport and I agree, guns should be regulated. I lost a friend to a bullet when thieves broke in and shot him with his own gun. Guns aren't a good way to "protect yourself".

Also, there are over 12,000 guns deaths in this country a year. We need to make the gun laws stricter because whether or not the legal buyers are committing the crimes, they are helpng the supply, making it easier for others to commit these crimes/get hold of guns. By the way, using any other country as a contrast is irrelevent because the cultures are different. Just because you may use a handgun at a paper target doesn't mean a dealer will.

Slipknot808 I agree with everything you said, but why say that the right to own guns is being undermined? Try properly evaluating the second amendment because if anything, it's a good thing gun control is getting stricter, like in PA for example.

Seeing as crimes committed with legally owned firearms are under 7%, and why don't we ask Australia how super strict gun control pays off....oh I forgot...homicides went up 300% after rediculous gun control was introduced. Here's a tip; learn what the fuck you're talking about before you choose to shoot your ignorant and uninformed mouth off.

Ignorant? Really. Have you ever heard of straw buyers? I guess not, they're the people who are leagl and able to buy guns, such as girlfriends, parents, drunks, whatever, that know the exconvict. These people supply the guns to dealers and gangs and so forth and that's where the majority of your murders come from. Also, the 2nd Amendment was created to compensate for no police force and in case the state was unjust to its people. It wasn't created for guns to be bought and used arbitralily.
