Access full lesson containing this video at: http://www.yourteacher.com/algebra2/multiplyingpolynomials.php Students learn to multiply a binomial times a trinomial, such as (r -- 7)(r^2 + 6r + 2), by distributing each of the terms in the binomial through the trinomial, then combing like terms. Students also learn to simplify a binomial cubed, such as (3c -- 2)^3, by rewriting the problem as (3c -- 2)(3c -- 2)(3c -- 2), FOILing the first two binomials together, then multiplying the resulting trinomial times the last binomial, and combining like terms.
