you cant judge a song on first listen,i was never fond of any verve album until after a few listens they grow on you,but a storm in heaven is their best work,urban hymns was way too commercial,though its still great.

To me, it's like the jamming of 'Storm' crossed "Northern Soul"s ferocity. So it's a better fit with the back catalog than "Urban Hymns" -- and that's fine. I love the Eastern tuning (a souvenir from Nick's time in Spain maybe?)and the tight rhythm section. Let's face it, this band's been through too much to return to the innocent bliss-out of "Storm." Let's be thankful they're salvaging what the can from it and moving on.
